Stearns Violins, Inc. Instrument Rentals

Stearns Violins Rental is SIMPLE! Your child can try the violin, viola, cello or bass without buying an instrument immediately, and you build credit
toward the purchase of an instrument with your rental payments. (See contract for details.) If any maintenance is necessary we will provide that service quickly in our own shop at no extra charge to you. This includes anything from a sticking peg to a broken bridge. NOTE: Major disasters like theft or serious damage can be covered by our Extended Maintenance Plan for a small monthly fee. (See contract for details.)

2. Properly planed ebony fingerboard and string nut

Rental Plans

Economy Choice:
This plan is for young beginners who want to try playing a violin family instrument, but need time to see if they want to continue. It an economical solution for those who need to start on small size instruments (1/16th size through 3/4 size violins and cellos, and up to 14” violas). The instruments provided in this program may be new or used at the discretion of Stearns Violins, and will be in good adjustment in order to make your first experience with a string instrument a good one.

Typically the instruments in this entry level program will have steel strings, four string adjusters, a bow with real horse hair, and a hard case (violins and violas) or bag (cellos.) In this program, you may apply your rental payments toward the purchase of a new instrument of like or better quality from Stearns Violins, Inc. (See contract for details.)

Conductor’s Choice:
This advanced rental choice gives you a better quality instrument equipped with upgrade strings and Perfection Planetary Pegs. This program is for those needing a full size instrument or better grade small size instruments. With this plan your rental can be applied to the purchase of a new or used instrument of like or better quality from Stearns Violins, Inc. (See contract for details.)

Our Program

1. We will provide all maintenance repairs to the instrument free of charge with the exception of broken strings. Strings are guaranteed for 90 days. All of our customers can purchase strings at discount prices (25% off list).
2. You can return the instrument at any time
3. We will exchange the instrument for the next size at any time while you are renting.

Customers

We view our customers as our friends. Your satisfaction with the value you receive when you rent or purchase an instrument from us is important.
Our hours are by appointment so that we can spend a sufficient amount of time with each person to answer questions, show how violins are made, and just get acquainted.

Playing

Playing a stringed instrument can be a very rewarding experience. On the other hand it can be painful and frustrating if the instrument is of poor quality, or is improperly adjusted.
At Stearns Violins we feel that every student instrument we rent should be easy to play and produce a good tone. For this reason we are particular about what we rent, and careful about how the instrument is adjusted.
